Our Story

The Flower Pot Men was founded in 2023 by partners Nick and Chris, united by a shared love of the natural world and a commitment to raising the standard of garden services across their local area.

Chris brings over twenty years of hands on horticultural experience, with a deep understanding of planting, structure and long term garden care. Nick shares that same genuine passion for gardening and the outdoors, alongside a strong operational and business background that ensures every project runs smoothly, professionally and with careful attention to detail.

Together, they balance creativity with organisation, combining practical skill with considered delivery. They established The Flower Pot Men to provide expert knowledge, thoughtful advice and workmanship of the highest quality across Sandford Orcas (where it all started) and the surrounding Dorset and Somerset countryside.

Since then, they have built a reputation for reliability, craftsmanship and thoughtful horticulture, becoming a trusted name within the local community and across the counties.

  • Chris

    CO-FOUNDER / GARDENER

    One half of The Flower Pot Men, Chris brings over twenty years of hands on gardening experience, along with an impressive knowledge of Latin plant names.

    He has a sharp eye for flow, structure and the finer details that quietly define a well kept garden. Happiest with secateurs in hand, he can often be found pruning roses, shaping shrubs or carefully restoring balance to a space that has grown a little unruly.

    Chris combines deep horticultural knowledge with patience and precision, ensuring every garden is not only beautiful but thriving.

  • Nick

    CO-FOUNDER / GARDENER

    The other founding Flower Pot, Nick is rarely far from a greenhouse, a vegetable patch or the beginnings of an ambitious new plan.

    With broad practical experience and a strong operational instinct, Nick ensures the business runs smoothly while remaining very much hands on. Permanently muddy boots are part of the uniform, and he is always happy to get stuck in.

    If there is a new idea taking root, chances are Nick is already three steps ahead.

    GARDENER

    Doug brings over ten years of hands on gardening experience and a calm, dependable presence to the team. With a genuine passion for outdoor spaces, he takes pride in the care and attention that goes into maintaining a healthy, well kept garden.

    Comfortable across a wide range of garden maintenance and planting work, Doug is known for his practical approach and strong work ethic. Whether supporting larger projects or keeping gardens looking their best day to day, he is always happy to roll up his sleeves and get stuck in.
